Enosis
Integrated Decisions Making Support System providing Real-Time Information about Various Transportation.
The "ENOSIS" project provides information services
to travellers, in addition to ticket reservation services, for urban or
inter-urban trips. The trip may consist of one or more independent
sub-trips, involving different means of transportation or different
transportation companies. These services are provided both through the
Internet (web portal), and over the phone. Virtual Trip has designed
and developed the services provided over the phone, i.e., the voice
gateway of the project. Through the voice gateway, the user can
ask for information concerning the available interurban trips, by
giving the source and destination of his trip. They may be sea-trips,
air-trips, or any combination of the two options. Both the web portal
and the voice gateway use the same data source, and therefore provide
consistent information to the users.
The voice application is developed using the VoiceXML technology, which is based on the VoiceXML w3c standard. In order to provide dynamic data to the users, Text To Speech (TTS) technology is used. Moreover, in order to provide convenient and fast responses, the application makes use of Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) technology, combined with DTMF tones, to accept the user input.
